LAMP LIGHTING CEREMONY

The Lamp lighting ceremony of Nursing Students of batch 2012 from Subharti Nursing College was held at Guru Teg Bhadur Audiotorium of Subharti University, Meerut, on 22.02.2013. Around 180 students of B.Sc. Nursing, GNM and ANM course took the pledge to maintain professional ethics and dignity.

Additional Director General of Police, North Zone, Sh. O.P. Singh, I.P.S. was the Chief Guest and Lt. Gen. B.S. Rathore, AVSM, VSM, Pro-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar, Founder President, Subharti K.K. B. Charitable Trust, Lt. Col. Mercy, Deputy Principal Matron, Military Hospital, Meerut were guests of honour, who, along with Ex. Capt. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, Subharti Nursing College, lit the lamp.

Dr. A.K. Khare, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Dr. D.C. Saxena, Medical Superintendent, Chattrapati Shivaji Subharti Hospital, all the principals of various Colleges of Subharti University, apart from the senior staff and faculty members, were present to grace the occasion.

The nursing students, with lighted candles, took the oath of service amidst Vedic chants as the lighting of the lamp symbolizes transfer of knowledge, skills and spirit of service. Chief Guest Mr. O.P. Singh, in his speech, motivated the students to maintain high standards of their profession. Awards were given to meritorious students who stood first in Academics, Sports and Cultural activities. The Ceremony concluded with the blessings of Founder President Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar. Vote of thanks was rendered by Capt. Geeta Parwanda, Principal of Subharti Nursing College. The programme aimed to inculcate in the students, values of life, along with the need to imbibe virtues of compassion, kindness and dedicated service to Humanity, emblematic of this noble profession.
