WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2014

Staff & students of Subharti Nursing College celebrated the World Environment day June 2014. World Environment Day is one of most popular and most celebrated eco-days globally, this is also a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure cleaner, greener, and brighter outlook for themselves and future generation. Ex. Captain Geeta Parwanda, Principal, Subharti Nursing College stressed the importance of environment management. A tree plantation program was also organised at the function. Also, an Environment Mass Awareness Rally was organized in the nearby village Alipur by the students of Subharti Nursing College and villagers of Alipur. The dignitaries of the local area of Alipur were also invited for the tree plantation program.

WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY (17 MAY)

Staff & students of Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College celebrated the world Hypertension Day (17th May) programme by conducting a health awareness camp for the public. More than 400 people attended the camp on the day. The Programme was headed by Mrs. Geeta Parwanda, Dean, Panna Dhai Maa Subharati Nursing College.. The theme for the programme was “Know your Blood Pressure”. It was organised to raise awareness in the general public about the alarming situation of High B.P. Other highlights of the programme were: Free B.P. check up camp · Health Talks regarding prevention of High Blood Pressure & complications Video exhibit on impact of High Blood Pressure. NATIONAL LEVEL NURSING CONFERENCE-2014

A two day national level Nursing Conference on “Teaching and Learning Strategies” was organised at Subharti Nursing College on 2nd & 3rd May, 2014. Chief guest for the event was Dr. C.M. Kohli (Addl. Director, CGHS), guest of honor was Mrs. Vasudha Prajapati ( Deputy Registrar, Gujarat Nursing Council). The session was also chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Manzoor Ahmed, S.V. Subharti University. Over 300 delegates around the country attended the conference. Themes for the conference was: · Pedagogy: A critical approach to teaching · Value of peer learning in nursing education in shaping future nurses · Challenges and issues in teaching programmes · Nursing education: cutting edges teaching learning strategies · Promoting clinical skills among nursing students through clinical instruction Other esteemed speakers include Dr. Neelam Makhija, Prof. Rekha, Vice-Principal, Sharada University, Noida, Prof. Indira Rani, Nursing Director, Jaypee Medical Centre, Prof. Geeta Subhramanium from College of Nursing, RR Hospital, New Delhi, Col. Devi Deb, Principal, PGI College of Nursing, Lucknow. Key notes were provided by the chief guest & guest of honour which was followed by the release of souvenir.

INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY (12 MAY)

International Nurses Day was celebrated on 12th May, 2014 at Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College. Theme for the day was “Nurses: A Force For Change – A Vital Resource For Health”. On the day Ex. Cap Mrs. Geeta Parwanda, Dean , Panna Dhai Maa Subharati Nursing College, elucidated to the nursing students on the significance of the nurses day by citing example from the life of Florence nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. It was expanded that nurses have biggest responsibility in rendering service for the health of the people all over the world.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR BSC(N) 1ST YEAR, M.Sc(N) IST YEAR & GNM IST YEAR 2013 BATCH

Introduction:
Orientation programme for B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc (N) 2013batch was organized on August 22 and GNM on September 04, 2013 in Lecture Theatre-I, Subharti Nursing College.
Objectives:
  • To orientate the students to the nursing profession.
  • To orientate the students to the Institution and University
  • To develop basic understanding regarding the course.
  • To orientate the students to rules and regulation of the institution.
  • To create awareness among students regarding Student Nurses Association.
Report:
The programme started around 10:00a.m. with a prayer song by the senior students, followed by welcome speech by Mrs. Taj Nisha Banu, Reader, Subharti Nursing College. The lighting of the lamp was done by Dr.Manzoor Ahmed, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Mrs. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, SNC, Mrs.Taj Nisha Banu, Reader, SNC and Ms.Namita Batra, Lecture, SNC. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor extended his blessings and good wishes to the students. Orientation to the nursing profession was given by Mrs.Geeta Parwanda, Principal, Subharti Nursing College. Mr Jerin Rajan, Lecturer, who familiarized the freshers to the rules, regulation, policies and manuals of the institution. Orientation to the course/ Subjects was given by Mr. Jacob Thomas, Lecturer SNC. Ms.Namita Batra, Lecturer, spoke on Anti- Ragging Measures while introduction about Student Nurses Association was given by Mrs. Arul Malar, Lecturer, followed by self introduction by the students and their interaction with seniors. Feedback from the students was taken at the end of the programme. In the afternoon segment, the students were given an orientation of the University by being taken around in two groups, accompanied by the senior students.
Student Feedback Result:
71% of the student marked the programme as Excellent and 29% as Very Good. Programme came to an end by 4:00p.m.
