WORLD tuberculosis DAY 2015

On the occasion of the World Tuberculosis Day 24th March 2015, students of M.Sc.(N) 1st year (2014) and B.Sc. (N) 2nd year (2013) were conducted a Rally on Prevention and control of TB and health awareness programme on tuberculosis, dengue, malaria, filarial and swine flu in Pathanpura village, Meerut. The village pradhan Mr. Pramod  inaugurated the rally by unfolding the theme of world Tuberculosis day-“Nazar Andaz na kare” and flag on rally. Following this Health awareness programme through role play was conducted in the village and Dr. Rajni Gupta was the chief guest. The role play was based on three diseases. The first one on dengue, malaria and filaria, second one on swine flu and the last on tuberculosis. Through the role play village people got more knowledge on prevention and management of tuberculosis, dengue, malaria, filarial and swine flu. Post test was conducted after the role play from 30 samples on knowledge of rural people regarding Prevention and control of major communicable diseases. 75.06% increase on knowledge was observed from the post test.
