REPORT ON MASS AWARENESS PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY II YEAR ANM STUDENTS IN SONA VILLAGE, KAJURI

As part of Rural Community postings, II Year ANM students of Subharti Nursing college, Meerut organized Village meeting, Mass awareness programme, Role play, and Nutrition Demonstrations on 20/02/2015 and 27/02/2015 respectively in Rural areas at Sona village, Kajuri, Meerut.

1st Day- 20/02/2015

Event : - Village meeting on Adolescent care.

Theme : - Adolescent Health

Beneficiaries :- Adolescent girls and other people of sona village

Venue : Sona Village, Kajuri, Meerut

On first day of the programme, II Year ANM students organized village meeting on Adolesecent Health. After this meeting students organized counseling sessions and identified some adolescent problems, like early marriage, Lack of education and poverty. Students educated the group on menstrual hygiene and importance of school.

2nd Day- 27/02/2015

Event : - Role play on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao” and Nutritional Demonstration.

Theme : - “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao”

Beneficiaries :- Under five and school age children, Adolescents, Rural men and women , Old age people, Ante natal and post natal Mothers.

Venue : Sona Village, Kajuri, Meerut

On second day, II Year ANM students organized and performed a Role play on “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”. This programme was based on needs of the rural people and given importance on Female education and Literacy, Control of Early marriage and Elimination of Female feticide. After the role play, Nutrition demonstration was performed in the same place. The main concept of nutrition demo was “Low cost- High calorie.”

Demo Topics were: - Antenatal Diet, Post natal Diet, Weaning and Adolescent Diet.
